Echourok’s foundation for chronic diseases-hit children to last in time

Echourok’s foundation for chronic diseases-hit children to last in time

Talking on the TV set of the French speaking satellite channel Canal Algérie , the cjief editor of the French and English version of Echourokonline Amer Oumalou has lengthily dwelt on the newspaper’s praiseworthy initiative to help the cancer –hit children.

  •
  • The campaign of solidarity launched by Echourok  will not be limited to a certain period of time but will last in the duration.
  •
  •
  • Canal Agérie: You are the chief editor of Echourok and a member of National Committee of Solidarity; several ads were broadcast over the last few days calling for the mobilization around the sick children with the participation outstanding political, sportive and cultural personalities including Amel Bouchoucha and the Algerian goalkeeper M’Bolhi, is it your idea?
  •
  • Amer Oumalou: Actually, there are not the only ones so there is Matmour, Meghenni and other political figures who took part to this initiative.
  •
  • Canal Agérie: Are you behind this campaign?
  •
  • Amer Oumalou: No, there are a lot of people behind.
  •
  • Canal Agérie: Yes, of course when I say you I mean a whole team.
  •
  • Amer Oumalou: Sure, we are all committed to give assistance those children and others hit by chronic diseases including diabetes and hypertension and of course cancer. This operation was widely followed. I’d like to thank the Algerian Television particularly for its help in raising the population’s awareness because when we deal with cancer, we have to go to the bottom-line. And I can tell you that it’s terrible and the situation is dramatic; behind each child suffering cancer, there a father, mother, brothers and sisters and friends… There is a formidable solidarity among the Algerians.
  •
  • Canal Agérie: Yes’ we‘ve been moved by this little girl’s call who was addressing the cancer hit people as if she was not suffering the same disease?
  •
  • Amer Oumalou: It’s natural and spontaneous. These ads that were shot by Echourok’s communication cell were very convincing and if you go to the hospitals you would have been moved even more. We use to pay visits to them at the hospitals and offer gifts we know them better.
  •
  • Canal Agérie : You have probably knit ties with them?
  •
  • Amer Oumalou: Yes , indeed there are strong ties between us, we k now them by their names Amel, Farida, Mohammed and others and we keep in touch with them on the phone.
  •
  • Canal Agérie: Actually, you intend to create a foundation ..
  •
  • Amer Oumalou: No , it’s Echourok’s foundation for chronic diseases- hit children. We are about to create it because we don’t need an operation limited in time   but rather a sustainable one, this is the main objective of Echourok’s foundation for sick children. The foundation will have a bank account to collect money from the local donators and another one for those living abroad. There are many Algerians living abroad who do not hesitate to give assistance like the lady who called us from France the day before yesterday and the man who called from Switzerland; as we are concerned we are collecting their coordinates and will get n touch with them . The project is among the main priorities of the one of Echourok’s publisher Ali Fodhil his main objective is to build a hospital for chronic disease-hit children.
