Economy: Food products noticed high prices on the eve of Eid el Fitr

Retailers at the level of the various markets of vegetables and fruits took the opportunity of Eid El Fitr to repeat speculation in prices of basic products, which noticed a crazy rise in prices like zucchini which price jumped to 1480 DZD, in addition to lettuce, carrots, turnips and chili, which prices exceeds 100 DZD.
Many citizens who were interviewed by “Echorouk” on Friday in a number of markets like the market of Hussein Dey expressed their discontent from the rising prices, which broke the record figures on the eve of Eid al-Fitr, as they all agree that what is happening is merely a personal effort by the fan of quick profit, imposing their logic, at a time when the customer finds himself forced to pay from his/her pocket despite his will.
Zucchini made the event, as it topped the list of vegetables with high prices, as the price per kilogram reached 140 DZD, and potatoes price reached 65 DZD, in addition to lettuce, which price jumped to 120 DZD, and carrots and turnips, which reach 80 and 90 DZD.
The strange thing is, that while the simple consumer felt a sigh of relief due to the low price of white meat, especially chicken,that reached 230 DZD days before Eid, he/she was surprised by a decline in demand, such as the timing of each year, with the end of summer, and it comes to the price of beans, which continued to rise, up to the limits of 280 DZD a few days ago.
On the other hand, the price of fruits noticed a high rise, like the price of grapes on Friday that reached 450 DZD per kilogram, and bananas with 180 DZD and 230 DZD for apples.
