Education: Draw used to choose BAC Exam topics

In contrast, informed sources from the NOEC told Echorouk that the BAC questions of 2014 are not necessarily the topics of this year, but may be old questions that have been completed since 4 years, provided that they are adapted to the “threshold of lessons”.

Same sources added that the committee in charge of preparing and printing the baccalaureate exam topics, includes professors, inspectors, managers and workers whose number reached up to 125 employees, who are barred from leaving the center to the last day of the exam.

Echorouk sources revealed that before starting the process of printing the Baccalaureate topics, the “topics’ official” who was appointed by managers, will do a “draw” on several subjects belonging to four years ago, and which are all known as the “Bank of topics”, noting that the draw in all educational modules, and the subject that is produced by the draw is delivered directly, either to the professor or inspector of the module who shall review it in all respects, especially in terms of compatibility with the “threshold of lessons” that was set by the General Inspectorate of Pedagogy, as the topic should be extracted from the program, with determining the nature of the test, whether it is an exercise or a text or questions, and using the evidence of tests that included how to build the theme and accuracy, and if it is found that the question does not comply with the threshold, in this case they will adapt the question with the threshold, through the compensation with another question that is included within the threshold.

“The “topics’ bank” includes questions for several years that may go back to four years, on the grounds that the completion of two topics in each module is put in the bank annually, and then it is added to the previous topics, as to print only one subject. BAC pupils should be reassured that it is impossible to leak the questions, on the grounds that the procedures that are followed in the process of preparing and printing the questions will prevent it. Printing operation started in some topics which professors reviewed and scrutinized, as these topics must be written by a professor and will not be taken from a book or a yearbook or a past exam.”

Same sources asserted that the completion of a BAC Exam question takes two years, on the grounds that the NOEC instructs teachers to complete official exams’ subjects on August, after the announcement of the final results, to give them a full year again to discuss those topics that are placed in the “Bank of topics.”
