Education minister vows to satisfy the temporary teachers’ demands
Education minister Abu Bakeur Ben Bouzid is due to confer today with the freshly appointed Director General of Civil Service to discuss the requests raised temporary teachers who staged a sit-in by the presidential palace, here in Algiers.
- This the first meeting of its kind since the appointment of the new Director General who was assigned the task to treat the pending issues left by his predecessor Djamel Kharchi.
- The education minister has , in this respect, summoned the temporary teachers’ representatives assuring them in advance that the outcome of the meeting will 70% in their favor .
- This announcement lifted up their spirits and responded positively to the minister’s call who met them at 3 pm.
- The main coordinator of the national coordination of the temporary teachers, Mourad Fertagui has indicated to Echourok on the sidelines of their sit-in that, their movement was not linked to the unrests that wrack the Arab nations, since they requests go back to three years ago.
- He has hailed the decision made by the president Abdelaziz Bouteflika to appoint a new Director General of public service “ this is a good omen not only for the temporary teachers only, but for the whole categories of the education sector”.
