Education sector heading for projected general strike
The national education sector is currently on a volcano. The three major unions of this sensitive sector have just decided to wage a general work stoppage in support of their long-running overdue claims.
- These three unions including UNPEF, CNAPEST and SNAPEST have decided to pool their efforts in order to bring home their long-standing claims and grievances through an all-out strike action extending all over the national territory.
- The CNAPEST national coordinator Nouar Larbi told Echorouk that the representatives of the three unions were to meet on Friday with the aim of setting the date of the projected nation-wide strike action and its duration.
- He indicated that the planned work stoppage would last until the relevant authorities’ declared acceptance to address seriously all the legitimate claims and concerns of the national education workers with on prime focus the school teachers of all grades taken together.
