Education unions pick up more “catastrophic” errors in second generation books
Education unions said they will release final reports about errors in the second generation books and new programs this week.
Press attaché at CNAPSET union Messaoud Boudiba said the union assigned teachers to check the new books contents and pick up language, knowledge and grammar errors.
Another union considered that changes to school books needs verification in terms of programs, knowledge, educational, social and historical aspects.
The Pedagogy National Commission is examining and following up all the pedagogical and educational issues related to the education system reforms.
Kouider Yahiaoui, a spokesman for the Commission, said an assessment operation is conducted through three workshops to examine the second generation books.
“We did not release our report on time because the education ministry gave us the new books just after the beginning of the school year. We set up the commission, 15 days ago. It started comparing between the new and old books to find out whether they are suitable to pupils’ mental capacities and school level,” he told Echorouk.
He added that a final report will be submitted to the education ministry.
Speaking about errors in the books, Yahiaoui said more catastrophic errors were discovered in the second generation books.
