Egyptian clubs to oust Samir Zaher
Representatives of 43 Egyptian football clubs demand the convening of an extraordinary meeting of the country’s football association to withdraw confidence from its head Samir Zaher and all members of the council.
The Egyptian representatives held a closed-door meeting in Luxor (south of Egypt) at the invitation of the city’s club president Ahmed Hijazi, to discuss the development and request a convening of an extraordinary general assembly as provided in Article 21 of the basic rules of the EFF which set terms of the tasks of the Extraordinary general assembly.
The Council of Sport at the Ministry is expected to consider recommendations that came out of the meeting in the coming period in order to activate them, and another meeting at Mansoura to be held next Saturday for the same reason as well.
“Number of clubs which call for a general assembly to reach ninety at least, as a large number of Egyptian clubs agreed on a demand to hold a general assembly, however, they were unable to attend Luxor’s meeting for different circumstances. Lot of clubs with known positions towards the EFF will join the list of those who want it down. Organizers of Luxor meeting have received numerous contacts from officials of many clubs which support their demands, despite desperate attempts by members of the EFF to dissuade them from attending the meeting”, Head of Annasr club, Amr Abdelhak said in a press statement published here on Friday.
Secretary-General of the conference Djamel Mohamed Ali, said there are many recommendations approved by the Egyptian clubs including, the amendment of the basic regulation of the EFF that must include the representation of the Saaid region in the council of administration taking into account the representation of the leading persons in this region in the federation’s committees, as well as the preparation of a criteria for selecting coaches of the national team away from pleasing Al Ahli and Zamalek.
Media sources indicated that the head of the Egyptian Football Federation Samir Zaher began amking contact with members of the General Assembly in order to “Spoil” the club’s plan to hold an extraordinary meeting 15 days after removing confidence from the federation.
Members of the council began the mobilization of a new bloc from blubs supporting the general assembly if the national council will agree on holding it in order to stop opposition from collecting signatures for the two thirds of members and reach the withdrawal of confidence from Samir Zaher and his council.
