Eight “stupid” mistakes bring Morocco into trap
Recent events between Algeria and Morocco divulgated the Moroccan Mekhzen which committed many “stupid” mistakes as King Mohamed IV called his ambassador to “protest” against President Bouteflika’s letter to Abuja Summit about the Western Sahara issue.
There are indicators that show the Moroccan Kingdom’s bad intentions:
1- President Bouteflika’s letter reflected Algeria’s position about liberation issues including the Western Sahara cause. Morocco turned a deaf ear to peaceful steps by calling its ambassador before asking for explanations.
2- The Algerian embassy in Rabat was surrounded by protesters who offended Algeria’s symbols and constitutional institutions.
3- The Moroccan government launched a campaign to give false facts and try to put pressure on Algeria.
4- The Moroccan authorities protected the man who entered the Algerian consulate and tore the national flag on the 59th anniversary of the Algerian Revolution.
The Algerian foreign ministry said videos of the man showed that his act was not “isolated” but was supported by the Mekhzen. The Moroccan government did not issue any release to condemn it.
5- Morocco arrested the man and released him without giving explanations. That shows a comic play and Rabat’s intention to cover the act and its masterminds.
6- Morocco’s King Mohamed IV did not congratulate the Algerian president and his people on the Revolution Day on November 1st. At the same time, it allowed to tear the Algerian flag at the consulate in Casablanca.
7- The ambassador came back to Algeria after finishing his “quick consultations” with his country as if nothing happened. He was immediately called by the Algerian foreign ministry to ask him for explanations.
8- The Moroccan offending campaign continues to raise hate against Algeria as Rabat considers it as a “virtual enemy” in order to divert the local public opinion attention from the Kingdom’s domestic problems.
