Electoral Code revision: FLN waits, RND ready to participate and Al Nahda for administration exclusion

The National Liberation Front (FLN) said the ninth congress of the party formed a special commission which came up with recommendations about possible changes to the electoral code.

• “The party prefers to wait until the code is presented to be modified. The FLN will give its advices and the recommendations on time,” the FLN’s spokesman Aissa Kassa told Echorouk on the phone.

• According to Al Nahda movement, the electoral code should include the withdraw of the administration from elections.

• “Al Nahda believes that the modifications should also include the change of elections supervisor. The judicial power should supervise the elections due to its credibility. The administration has always supported a given candidate,” Al Nahda’s representative said.

• He added that the amendment of the electoral code should include the creation of an independent commission to recount the number of voters and ban quota system.

• The Democratic National Rally (RND) said it is ready to attend the political workshops announced by Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

• The party’s official spokesman Miloud Chorfi did not mention the articles which should be amended.
