Es Setif coach, Zekri, to Echourok: The local player is competitive

Twenty four hours after his crowning with the Algerian Cup Trophy, the coach of ES Setif, Zekri opened his heart to Echourok with a moving tone to an extent that he shed in tears after a strenuous season marked by tensions inside the club even at the highest moments of success.

• The coach felt alien in his own country and declared “ I feel like I was born anew, I didn’t notice that I was playing against my native town in the final ( he was born in Batna),  the great majority of Batna’s fans were supporting their “ local hero” and undoubtedly they were happy to my success with their rival of the day ES Setif…  I received several calls and messages of sympathy from the fans and I was overwhelmed because CA Batna made a good showing during the final and the players were fair play all along the match, this must be encouraged in the future”.

• Zekri declined to disclose the content of the discussion he had with the Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika but hailed his club’s achievement saying that it was a good omen and will boost them to do more pending the upcoming matches of the Algerian league, which remains an objective for him, despite the difference between ES Setif and the leader MC Algiers.

• “ I think this achievement will help us carrying on the competition comfortably and cautiously and with the God’s help we will not disappoint our fans and we’ll live up to their expectations”. He went on saying” Frankly speaking I feel stranger after each match an this feeling grows bigger after each success”.

• The coach’s offered the success to the fans who stood by him and the fans of his native town ,Batna, alike along with his  friends in Italy especially those who live in Milan and the staff of “Covercciano” center where he made his apprenticeship.
