The number of Algerian illegal immigrants arrested on Europe’s borders last year increased by 17 percent to 15,000 people in 2015, according to a European report.

Algerian illegal immigrants are ranked 10th as the nationalities the most arrested on European borders. The list is topped by Syrian illegal immigrants.

The report shows that many Algerians are still tempted by illegal immigration to Europe although surveillance measures were imposed in the continent.

A number of European countries kicked out more than 6,000 Algerian illegal immigrants in 2015, according to the same source.

The European countries also repatriated 2,232 Algerian illegal immigrants in 2015.
