Exceptional licenses to employ Syrian, African refugees

Government decides to adopt an exceptional formula to provide temporary job opportunities for African and Syrian refugees, as directorates of employment adopted exceptional licensees which validity period do not exceed one year, for the benefit of foreign refugees, due to war circumstances, at a time when recent security reports refer to the unhealthy growing number of Malian and African refugees in Algeria.

Echorouk sources reveal that Employment, Labour and Social Insurance Ministry prepared a road map for the treatment of problem of terrible spread of the phenomenon of African refugees’ mendicity in Algeria, after the majority of governors, especially of large cities, sent reports to the Interior Ministry in the form of exposing situation of the Malian and Nigerian refugees’ sweeping of all streets and neighborhoods, reaching the extent of placing tents not far from archaic neighborhoods.

It seems that diplomatic roles that Algeria plays to solve the Malian crisis and realize the reconciliation between the various conflicting tribes in Mali, has embarrassed the Algerian authorities, and imposed dealing with the logic of softness for many considerations.

Echorouk sources added that instructions of the Labour Ministry, that were sent to the directorates of employment as a responsible party about the file of employment at the local level, enables every foreign refugee among Africans and Syrians to work for a one year period, as this license will be presented as a justification of the legal situation of these refugees, because most of them suffer from illegitimate situations.

This license carries the exceptional nature and is temporary, and enables refugees to work at the level of building workshops, and various road and irrigation projects, while the instruction did not show ways of demanding the license, and the Interior Ministry is the responsible party about licensing the residence of foreigners.
