“Facebook” Warns Algerian Muslim Scholars’ Association Because Of “Israel”!

The Association of Algerian Muslim Ulemas or Scholars was notified by the administration of Facebook because of a publication deemed as “undesirable” and “contrary to its policy” on their official page.

The publication in question was posted three days ago. This concerns a map of the occupied Palestinian territory posted with the statement: “This is Palestine and not Israel.”

It was posted on the page of the association following the recent controversy sparked off by the error in the Geography textbook for the first year average school-children when Palestine was replaced by Israel.

The publication was largely shared by the Internet users. “At the religious level as culturally, we have no complex against the Jews, but politically it is the blatant usurpation of Palestine”. 

“The Association of Algerian Muslim Ulemas shares the same foreign policy line of Algeria. The State of Israel is a reality for some and it remains their belief that we do not discuss,” said Mr. Abderrezak Guessoum, President of the Association in a statement to “Echorouk”.

The Association of Algerian Muslim Ulemas or Scholars denounced by the same token the reaction of Facebook. It called on “free” Algerians to support sharing, commenting or making references as “likes” on its publications.
