FAF grants Benchikha prerogative of choosing his foreign assistant

Algeria football coach Abdelhak Ben Chikha will not attend the first two matches of the national team of local players in the African Championship due to be held in Sudan on February4th-23rd, according to sources at the Algerian Football Federation (FAF).
- Coach Benchikha is expected to focus on a friendly match due to be held between Algeria and Tunisia on February 9th in the 5 Juillet Stadium in Algiers.
- He will go to Khartoum on February 10th. The FAF’s officials will determine the team who will play against Morocco depending on the game against Tunisia.
- It also hopes that the local team will be equal to their job against Uganda and Gabon so that the national coach could attend the third and fourth match against Sudan.
- Foreign assistant is Benchikha’s prerogative
- The same sources said coach Benchikha will choose his foreign assistant and will be personally in charge of contacts and negotiation. The FAF will be in charge of recommendation. Benchikha may decide in this point before the end of 2010.
- Earlier on Tuesday, he left hospital after he had undergone a surgery. He is expected to resume his job after two weeks.
