Former international player Ali Ben Arbia said he wants to join the pitch once again and be Algeria coach.

“The only thing which motivates me to go back to the pitch is training the Algerian team. I am very passionate about that,” Ben Arbia told a French newspaper.

“I regret that I was late to join the Algerian team and I had played few matches with them,” he added.

The player quitted the football world in 2016. He has been an analyst for French media. He also held the position of an advisor for the Qatari Football Federation.

His remarks comes as the Algerian Football Federation is looking for a new coach for the national team’s technical staff to assist Georges Leekens.

Earlier, the Federation’s President Mohamed Raouraoua and Leekens agreed upon the necessity of appointing a new assistant to the national team’s technical staff.

Raouraoua proposed many names such as former international players Madjid Bouguerra and Antar Yahia as well as a former local coach Nacer Sendjak.
