Fans should not turn their backs to national anthem, says Hannachi
President of JSKabylie (JSK) Mohand Cherif Hannachi asked supporters to respect the national anthem and have a sportive spirit ahead of the final the Algerian Cup between JSK and USMHarrach (USMH) due to be held on May 1st.
- You were honoured by Echorouk newspaper on Saturday. Do you want to say something about the newspaper’s initiative?
- It is a wonderful initiative. Echorouk’s director Ali Fodil has always made such initiatives. He has been faithful to JSK since we signed a contract with Echorouk.
- The team’s administration made similar initiatives for fans ahead of the match.
- We helped some poor fans and we offered a number of canes to ill people. We are planning to allocate three or four additional buses for fans. We are here to help those who really want to support the team in this great game.
- How is the atmosphere in the team?
- Thanks to Allah, the atmosphere is great. Everyone is mobilised for the match. Preparation conditions are good. This calm hotel is great and we are just waiting for the game.
- You seem optimistic over Sunday’s match.
- Of course. Why shouldn’t I be optimistic? I trust the team. By the way, I want to add something.
- Go ahead.
- The national anthem is a holy thing for us as Algerians. More than one million and a half of martyrs defended it. When some say the fans will turn their backs to the national anthem, that would mean they will turn their backs to martyrs. It is a very serious thing. Because of that, I ask the JSK’s fans to respect the national anthem because there is no thing more holy than the national anthem and martyrs in this country.
- As far as you are concerned, the final match is an important event in your career.
- I do not think so. My career is full of titles and victories either as a player or a manager. I said that to the players when I met them. They just have to sacrifice and win to dedicate the Cup to the fans. That would enrich their career. As for me, the match is ordinary and the victory would be a new title for me.
- You may be waiting for the help of Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
- Yes. That might be the reason why we promised the players of tempting bonuses if they win. I promised to give each one 100 million centimes. The most important thing for us is victory and not money.
