File of Algerian Prisoners In Iraq Notices An Imminent Breakthrough

File of the Algerian prisoners, against the backdrop of terrorism-related charges, is noticing an imminent breakthrough, informed sources told Echorouk.

“Competent authorities reported a number of these people’s relatives that their children will soon return. Algerian prisoners, who have been regrouped in Kadhimiya prison in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, are all alive, even those who were sentenced to death, and who come from the provinces of Bordj Bouariridj, Chlef, Algiers and El Oued”.

Previously, this case sparked a large controversy between Algeria and Iraq, as several MPs intervened to the Iraqi embassy level to resolve the case and prevent their execution, including the MP Hassan Oribi, who told Echorouk, on Wednesday, that there are positive indicators in the subject without adding any detail, and that he would travel personally to Baghdad soon to follow up the case with the official authorities in Iraq.
