Finance Minister blames banks managers for e- payment shortfalls

Taking the floor before banks and financial institutions’ managers, the minister has blamed them for not being up to the authorities’ efforts and have to shoulder full responsibilities in catching up the gap with the neighboring countries.

M Djoudi has summoned the managers to launch an all-out and aggressive campaign with the aim to raise the economic operators’ awareness as to the necessity of using this technological tool in their transactions.

The minister has singled out the acute shortfall of Card Terminals in hotels, supermarkets, pharmacies and other sectors, noting that the task was supposed to be carried out by the banks.

In a declaration to Echourouk, the General Manager of CETIM Company, Hadji Allouane has indicated that lifting of the requirement of receiving a prior permission from the security authorities, would facilitate the import of those Card Terminals in the future.
