Flight AH5017 crash: Samples of the victims' families taken for DNA analysis

Gendarmerie services call some family members of the victims of the Spanish plane that was leased by Air Algérie, in order to take samples about them, to conduct “DNA” analyzes to match them to the remains of the victims’ bodies, which will be subject to analysis by the unit of identifying victims of disasters, led by a colonel who is specializes in criminal investigations and which moved on Wednesday to the scene.

Official sources in Gendarmerie command told Echorouk, said the unit that moved on Wednesday to the area of Ghaous, northern Mali, composed of 15 specialized experts, led by a colonel, as a helicopter with modern equipment was put at the disposal of investigators, who were assigned to re-represent the incident, as he launched, in coordination with the French experts who are working in the field and investigating into the incident and analyzing the remains of the bodies to identify the victims, and transport them to their families.
Official sources in Gendarmerie command told Echorouk, said that these specialists in the delegation from several sectors were sent to the place of the accident to coordinate efforts with the representatives of the partner countries, namely France, Spain and Mali, as well as experts from the United Nations Mission in Mali to work together on this file.
