The National Liberation Front (FLN) has postponed deciding on the proposals and suggestions that are to be filed to the national consultations on political reforms, pending the holding of an extraordinary meeting of the central committee of the party, likely before next August.

In fact the members of FLN central committee could not decide clearly on several issues, including the nature of the political system to be adopted and the number of presidential terms.

Observers believe that the FLN aims by postponing filing its proposals on the forthcoming reforms, to reach harmonious vision with President Bouteflika’s. In fact, Secretary General of FLN, Abdelaziz Belkhadem, awaits that President Bouteflika to make his mind on whether to run for a fourth term in 2014 Elections, in order to decide on the issue of presidential terms, either limited or unlimited.

Yet, a member at the central committee of the FLN told Echorouk that the party has to consult the grassroots to draw up a consensus list of proposals, adding that an extraordinary meeting is likely to be hold before next August.
