Football-Three Algerian clubs show good performance in Africa
Three Algerian clubs qualified to the upper stage in both Africa Champions League and Confederation Cup.
MCA, ESSetif showed a good performance in the African Champions League, and JSKabylie in the Confederation Cup (CAF), and assured Algeria’s presence in the next round.
MCA realized a “miracle” on Sunday evening and won over the Zimbabwean club Dynamos (3-0), a result sufficient to qualify to the finals of the African Champions League’s cup.
Despite a defeat in the first leg in Harare with a heavy score (4-1), but MCA players did not lose concentration before Dynamos, and showed amazing performance in front of their fans at Omar Hamadi Stadium in Algiers.
MCA will play the 8th finals against Deportivo Inter Club of Angola. First leg match to be held on April 23 in Luanda and the second leg match to take place after 15 days in Algiers.
ESSetif did not find difficulty at the African Champions League Cup and won over Asava Yanga of Burkina Faso on Sunday in Ouagadougou (4-3). ESS players also won (2-0) at May 8 Stadium in Setif (east of Algeria). First leg match to be held in Cameroon between 22 and 24 April, while the second leg match between 6 and 8 April is expected to take place at 8 May Stadium in Setif (east of Algeria).
JSKabylie also qualified to the 8th finals of the African Confederation Cup (CAF) following victory in both first and second leg matches over ASC Tevragh Zeina of Muaritania (1-0 in Algiers and 2-1 in Nouakchott).
