Algerian international striker, Yacine Brahimi, will not play the upcoming fixture between Algeria’s national football team and its Cameroon counterpart slated for next Saturday in Yaoundé stadium, as part of the fifth round of qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup Contest due to be hosted by Russia.

An official statement posted on the Algerian Football Federation website said that Yacine Brahimi showed up at the Sidi Moussa national technical center on Monday morning, suffering from injury, and the team’s medical staff subjected him to in-depth examinations.

The IRM rays showed that Brahimi suffers from a thigh injury; thus he was exempted by the national team’s doctor from the upcoming Yaoundé trip.

Yacine Brahimi was injured during the latest fixture between his side of FC Porto and Sporting Lisbon as part of the Portuguese first-league championship, a match during which the Algerian international shone on the pitch.

Most of the local media outlets chose Yacine Brahimi, as the best player of this high-profile match.
