Former energy minister spent $ 2 billion in useless training sessions for his personenl

The Algerian hydrocarbons company, Sonatrach, is currently prospecting to select consulting offices specialized in auditing to accompany the group’s affiliates and branches as well as training its personnel.

  •
  •
  • The group has decided to limit the selection to the consulting agencies that abide by the Algerian legislation in a bid to avoid the former minister’s gross mistakes who spent $ 2 billion on inappropriate and useless training sessions for the personnel of this company.
  •
  • Sonatrach’s audit department has indicated that this initiative aims at drawing up a technical data sheet comprising a number of consulting agencies that will be assigned the task in the future to accompany the group and its branches in providing audit, tax and advisory services and financial management.
  •
  • The group has resorted to select national and foreign offices that abide by the Algerian legislation in the wake of the climate of fear and suspicion that prevailed inside the oil company forcing the fittest managers to refuse top responsibilities after putting a number of their fellow managers to prison on charges of mismanagement.
  •
  • A source has revealed to “ Echourok” that the company’s CEO Noureddine Cherouati was compelled to look for other competencies outside his group to accompany him in this new strategy because the existing managers are reluctant to do so.
