Former Guantanamo Prisoner “Belbacha” To Be Trialed In Algiers Soon
Algiers Criminal Court announced the supplementary agenda of the second criminal session of 2017, that will be launched from January, 2, until next February,23, where the court will consider 182 criminal cases, including 33 issues that are related to terrorism and the arms trade, and for the first time the so-called “B.N”, will be trialed on January 3, 2017, on charges of supporting terrorist acts and carrying a banned weapon without a legitimate reason.
Criminal judge will also hear, on January,17, the returnee from Guantanamo Bay, “Ahmed Belbacha”, to be followed by 26 cases, including rape and indecent assault, which are mostly cases of committing sexual relationships between assets and branches, in which a man and his daughter are accused, and who will appear for trial in a secret session on January, 22.
During this session the court will consider other files that are relating to organizing a criminal gang, robbery and drug trafficking, and exporting psychotropic substances, and the most important is the file of “Said Migri”, who is the largest drug baron and who was involved in the abduction of the child “Amine Barichane”, in addition to 25 cases of fraud in the official banking documents.
Issues that are related to the murder and attempted murder with premeditation, the court scheduled 23 files, in addition to eight other files of assault and battery, intentional crimes with a weapon or without it leading to permanent disability or death with unintentional will. As the court will consider 616 accused, of whom 286 arrested and 212 people who are not detained, and 16 women, and there are 118 accused in escape.
