Fouad Khedir to Echorouk: “I woke up from a dream and ready for the World Cup”

The new Algeria’s team striker Fouad Khedir said he wake up of a dream and is focusing more on the World Cup matches. He asserted that he deserves playing for Algeria’s colors.

 

• Valenciennes player told Echorouk that he never imagined himself playing against English stars, but now he enjoys happy moments with his teammates and focused on the World Cup.

• “I used to watch matches of the English Premier League on TV, but today I realized that have to face Lampard, Rooney and Gerrard. It is almost unbelievable, but I am definitively ready to face them in the WC”.

• Fouad Khadir 26 always tries to impose himself among the Desert Warriors during the trainings, which help him integrate easily, in addition to his good performance, which confirm his eligibility to carry the Algerian colors.

• “I am seeking to please coach Rabah Saadane, and I will do my best to show him that I deserve playing for Algeria, and I respect his choices. My wish is to play a World Cup match”, Khedir says.

• “I play with both feet, thus I can play in different positions. I can play in the right or left wings or even behind the strikers. I do not fear any position and I can play without accounts”, he adds.

• “World Cup 2010 is the first after 24 years. We are excited and I think this factor may lead us further is this competition. Playing against English stars is enough for me”.

• “I know most of the players, especially Ziani and Saifi, who played with me and gave me advices. My best friend in the team is Adlane Guedioura, who already played with me in the Algerian Olympic team”.

• “I am worked hard, so I am not surprised to play in such level”.

• Khedir started his professional career when he was twenty four, but his problems did not end, after two years of playing as principle in an ambitious team, he lived the tragedy of falling to the amateurs league. However, he was lucky when Philippe Montagne signed him for Valenciennes, which negotiated with him in order to extend the contract that run until 2012, realizing that he has a lot of potential, meaning that he has a promising future.
