France expresses gratitude for Algeria’s efforts to find body of Hervey Gourdel, who was executed by a terrorist group in Tizi Ouzou (eastern Algiers), French ambassador to Algiers, Bernard Emier, told APS.

“Over 300,000 visas are expected to be granted for Algerians to enter France with the end of the year.”
“Murder of Hervey Gourdel in Tizi Ouzou, has an impact on both the French and Algerians, who have long suffered in the past from the scourge of terrorist violence. We are grateful to Algeria for the men and means that it deployed to find the body of Hervey Gourdel, and punish those responsible for his murder.”
“Phenomenon of terrorism was a “common enemy for both France and Algeria.  We should combat it together and tirelessly. Coordination between the two countries is firm and effective.”
On the issue of free movement of people, the French Ambassador recorded a significant  growth of visas that were granted in 2013 for Algerian nationals, asserting that this will continue through 2014 “probably” with about 300,000 visas.
In the Libyan file, the French diplomat considered that there is no choice but to start a dialogue between Libyans, and to encourage the establishment of security and state institutions.
“France shares an deep concern with the Algerian authorities about the risks that are associated with destabilizing Libya. Participation of the Algerian diplomacy in the efforts that were supported by the United Nations to resolve the Libyan crisis is a very important step.”
“France’s support for Algeria’s efforts is for the benefit of a lasting settlement in Mali. French President François Hollande already praised the efforts of Algeria to find a lasting solution to Mali crisis, and gave its support, particularly in his speech at the seminar of ambassadors that was held at the end of August. We support the ongoing talks and efforts by Algeria to reach a good agreement that can be implemented in good faith by all the parties.”
“Strengthening the partnership between Algeria and France represents a priority strategy, and the development of economic relationships is in the heart of my mission in Algeria. Matter is about building a partnership agreement between Algeria and France, and continue investment.”
“France is the second economic partner of Algeria with 10 billion euros of exchanges in 2013. We are the first investor outside the hydrocarbons and the first foreign partner, and the French institutions that are located in Algeria has allowed the creation of 40,00 direct jobs and 100,000 indirect posts. I am committed to work tirelessly until returning back to France with is the first economic partner of Algeria in all fields.”
