The main activities of this network consist in issuing French passports and visas sold 400 thousand Algerian Dinars and 60 thousand respectively.

The prosecutor last week ordered the arrest of the leader along with two of his acolytes while three others were put under judicial surveillance.

The investigators opened an inquiry following information which revealed that the network was using a complex system to avoid being detected by the security services.

Indeed, the forgers were implementing detective-like schemes including the swapping of cars in the middle of the road as well as the itinerary so as to mislead the elements of the security services. A previous agreement between the  “client” and the forgers was sealed and a sum varying between 120 thousand and 400 thousand Algerian Dinars was paid, according to revelations made by the victims during the interrogation.

The investigation revealed that the beneficiaries were travelling with their Algerian passports to France and as soon as they reached the French soil, they destroy the green passport and shell out the forged French one to use it as an ID with which they travel inside the French territory and elsewhere in Europe.
