French Cultural Center Collects DZD 70 Billion From Promised Visas
In the momentum of the large controversy that is caused by the queues of defiant and feuding on the doors of the French Cultural Center on Sunday, to get the date of the French language proficiency test for the hope to open the door of the “lost” dream in their country, or so as some students believe, the shadow of the other side of the case remains absent or neglected, as many did not focus much on that, or overlooked it, which is the large sums of money that are earned by the French center from the candidates, without ensuring the majority of the opportunities to cross into the other side of the Mediterranean sea.
According to the official figures that were released by the French Cultural Center itself, over 700,000 Algerian students are registered on the website to conduct the required language qualification contest before any measures are taken on the visa to France.
One of the conditions that the candidates accepted is paying 10.000 DZD at the initial registration when obtaining the linguistic contests date, which means that the final result will be in the amount of DZD 700 billion, for the benefit of the center for the victory of hundreds of students only, whose number may not exceed a thousand at best, while the rest of the “losers” or unwanted, they spend their money for free, to fund the French treasury for rosy dreams that evaporated in a few minutes of the exam.
Moreover, the way of linguistic test raises more than a question mark on its way of studying the files and the intention behind excluding the majority after collecting their money, as it uses the American approach that is known of dropping the balance of each correct answer if there is a wrong answer, which reduces the chances of an overwhelming majority, but it allows the grabbing of their financial dues without any guarantees of a” fair” competition that ensures their success.
