The French Senate has stated in a report that the 120 imams hailing from Algeria, 30 from Morocco and 150 others from Turkey, now officiating in France, don’t disseminate an Islam based on the true values of the French Republic.

In addition, the report leveled serious accusations against these Algerian men of faith by purporting that the latter had resorted to corruption to come to France.

This baffling French Senate report further drove the point by accusing Algerian Imams based in France of not being up to the mark and of not being effective and professional, adding that they had usurped their positions through corruption practices because they have no academic and theological skills and know-how.

The report goes further when it called into question their alleged low level and paltry initial training compared to Moroccan Imams, stressing this woeful situation had lasted for 20 years now.

In this line, the French authorities have recently signed an agreement with the Algerian Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments to duly train in the French language those selected imams after their arrival in France by impregnating them with the French culture, providing them with secularism lessons and instilling in them the values of the French Republic so as to allow them to convey properly the divine message to young Muslims in France.
