Around 200 Frenchmen will arrive to the town of Tibhirine in the province of Medea to pray for the soul of seven monks killed in 1996, Le Parisien said on Thursday.

The French newspaper described the visit as “secret,” saying it was confidentially planned due to the issue sensitivity.

It did not reveal their identity neither did it say whether the delegation would be official or not.

The assassination is still under investigation as part of judicial cooperation between Algiers and Paris.

The newspaper says Algeria still hides the truth about the issue.

A week ago, French Prime Minister Manuel Valls paid a visit to Algeria. This raised questions among observers whether there is a link between the two visits.
