Fulbright grants tempting scholarships to Algerian students
US embassy in Algiers announced the start of registration for Fulbright program 2010/2014. The deadline is set on June 2nd, 2011 for applications, a release said.

Algerian students living in their country and have national nationality can benefit from the program provided that they have licence degree. US born students or candidates who have the Green Card are not allowed to apply for it, said the embassy.

Holders of licence degree in English, human and social sciences have priority while medicine students can not benefit from the program.

Candidates should have a good commend of English and they have to pass the Tofel exam. They have to get 575 points at least.

Selected candidates do pay the two-year scholarship fees while they will benefit from a monthly pay and other material aid to buy books and scientific equipment. They will also be given a return ticket between Algeria and the US in economic class.

Married candidates can bring with them their partners but without benefiting from privileges granted to selected students.
