Gaid Salah: “Algeria is intractable with its enemies and protected from all harm”

The Vice Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaid Salah has called for hiking vigilance in the aftermath of the “unprecedented deterioration in the security situation in the region, said the Ministry of National Defense in a statement (MDN).

During a working visit of inspection on Sunday to the 4th Military Region of Ouargla (800km-southeast of Algiers), the ANP Chief of Staff said that “the security instability prevailing in the region bodes ill for its security and stability, stressing that this requires more vigilance from the units of the People’s National Army so that Algeria would remain always potent in the face of its enemies.”

The Deputy Minister for National Defense stressed that “March is the month that expresses perfectly these teachings, highlighting the enormous sacrifices made by Algerian people to wrench their freedom, their independence and their national sovereignty.”

“It is during this month that we celebrate the Victory Day, on March 19th of each year,” he added.

“By fulfilling its duty, the People’s National Army (ANP), worthy successor to the National Liberation Army (ALN), is fully aware of the imperious necessity to be ready, like its predecessors, to make great sacrifices for the country with strong determination and unwavering commitment, under the leadership and the guidelines of the President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, Mr Abdelaziz Bouteflika,” General Gaid Salah emphasized.

He further noted in this context that the National People’s Army “is fully aware of the responsibility devolved upon it by the Algerian people, regarding that as a precious asset for which it will work forever, and for which the ANP will strive tirelessly to consolidate such a trust by guarding Algeria and its people from any harm.”

General Gaid Salah also recalled, at the same time, the “noble missions that the elements of the National Popular Army have accomplished, and as a continuation of those wrapped up by their ancestors who were then able, thanks to their solid faith and immense bravery, to free Algeria from the harsh colonial yoke and retrieve its national sovereignty. “

“The missions that you make are within the logical extension of those performed by your brave ancestors, in the most loyal and dedicated manner, as soon as the hateful French colonizers put his feet on the land of Algeria, until the outbreak of the glorious War of liberation led by your brave ancestors, who were imbued with great courage and deep valor, ” he underlined in his address before the ANP units of this southern region.

“Today you have the honor to protect your homeland, to safeguard and secure its borders, and to commemorate the glorious Chouhada or Martyrs who sacrificed their souls and blood for the sake of Algeria’s hard-won independence and sovereignty. Their lofty memory is waiting for you and for the future generations, in utter consideration for their untold sacrifices, while preserving their heritage and protecting it selflessly, in tribute to their memory and dedication to this sacred land. a land whose every corner testifies to the great determination of the brave Mujahideen of the National Liberation Army,” the Chief of Staff of the ANP underscored to this effect.

Army Corps General, Ahmed Gaid Salah, undertook his working visit of inspection at the 4th Military Region in Ouargla, in order to “further ramp up the direct and ongoing contact with elements of the national Armed Forces as part of the dynamics of regular field visits to the country’s various military Regions, so as to inquire about the situation of the ANP personnel and military units and their combat readiness”, the MDN statement stated.

On the first day of his visit, Army Corps General Gaid Salah inquired about the situation of the ANP units located along the southeast border of the country, where he gave instructions and guidelines to maintain operational availability before attending presentations on the overall situation prevailing in the entire region.
