Gaid Salah: we are determined to build a strong and sophisticated army
Algeria’s vice-defense minister General Ahmed Gaid Salah said the National Popular Army’s higher commandment is determined to build a strong, modern and sophisticated army. “It will be able to protect each inch of Algeria’s territory, protect its independence and preserve its national sovereignty.”
In a meeting with commanders of the sixth military zone, security officers and units commanders in Tamenrasset, General Gaid Salah said he “appreciate those efforts and aspire for more achievements.”
“We are determined, with Allah’s will, to concretize this endeavour,” he added.
“I say it once again. We are determined to build a strong, modern and sophisticated army. It will be based on competent and specialized humans. Challenges are imposed by the duty of protecting Algeria’s independence, preserving its national sovereignty and ensuring its popular and territorial unity,” said General Gaid Salah.
He attended a comprehensive presentation made by the zone’s commander and other presentations.
He gave instructions to stress the “vital importance” of Tamenrasset’s military zone and the efficient role of its units deployed on borders.
“Development phases in the National Popular Army reached an honorable level in different fields. I am sure that you are aware of the greatness of this progress which was made thanks to faithful perseverance. You know about its positive impact on continuous improvement of soldiers’ professional training,” he added.
