Gaza convoy 2: participants must pay $10,000

The second Gaza flotilla will be the hugest of its kind either in terms of the number of participants or aid quantities. Participants will have to pay about $10,000 for one single seat, Echorouk has learnt.

• The flotilla will include 15 ships loaded with humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in Gaza and will sail in the late June. The number of participants is estimated at more than 1,400 from 50 countries. Most of them come from Europe and America.

• A large number of Jews who reject Israel’s policy in the region will participate as well.

• Abderrezak Mokri, an activist, said Europeans will participate with small ships. Arabs will buy a big ship worth $4 million.

• He added that Turkey’s participation has not been confirmed yet.

• He also said organisers asked Algeria to offer 6 billions as it plays a leading role in this convoy. Yet, the Algerian authorities did not commit to pay this sum, saying it will pay the money which will be collected in the next few days.

• Those preparations come as the Israeli army announced that its marine forces finished its measures to face the flotilla and prevent any ship from breaking the blockade.
