George Weah: “I call for a peaceful match between Algeria and Egyptâ€
Former Liberian star George Weah, who is currently analyst in Al Jazeera sports, said Thursday’s match between the Algerian and Egyptian teams in the semi-finals must be a match for peace.

Weah asserted following the victory of Egypt over Cameroon while in the studio of Al Jazeera sport on Monday that the match Algeria v Egypt is nothing more than a football match where there is a winner and a loser, and therefore the result must be accepted whatever it will be, asking for peace in this game, and avoid what happened previously.

“I’m a neutral analyst, and if I supported Cameroon against Egypt during the quarter-final match it’s because Samuel Eto’o is my friend, however; during Algeria v Egypt match I’ll get to the studio with both Algerian and Egyptian flags, and I’ll put them before me in order to confirm that I’ll support the game only. I call the African Federation of Football to choose the best arbitration in Africa because it is a special match and needs justice within the game.
