Government To Launch An Inventory On Real Estates Of Car Dealerships
File of the car dealerships who violated the tender book that organizes their activity, which is issued in 2014, and includes a mandatory for local manufacturing of cars, was transferred from the Ministry of Industry and Mines to the Interior and Local Communities Ministry, as governors of the republic received orders to accelerate in the inventory of the number of real estate which were granted to the car dealerships in provinces, and which were not exploited to enter formally in the production stage, and it comes after the end of the deadlines that were granted to them, according to the book of conditions that was issued nearly 3 years before mast December, 31.
On January,1 , 2017, the Governors of the Republic received the instruction to count the number of car dealerships who are active in each province, and the extent of their commitment to manufacturing locally, and it comes also to the activities of installation and assembly, handling and production of spare parts, with the knowledge that the number of handling and mechanics companies in Algeria are 55 dealerships, at the time when more than 15 dealerships launched projects for the manufacture and installation, which will be evaluated before next March, a subsidiary of the largest dealerships and manufacturers like Renault, Peugeot, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Nissan and Ford.
In contrast, governors will begin these days, in the implementation of the resolution that is contained in the Complementary Finance Act for 2015, by imposing a fine of up 3%, for people who have benefited from real estates but did not exploit them until now, an article that was not applied after more than 18 months of issuance in the Official Gazette, and the local authorities will give 6 months from the date of the acquisition of the property, to impose fines on the dealerships, who will be bound in the near future to grant the outcome of their work and the process of the project, which they launched, and it comes also to businessmen who started the completion of car factories in Algeria.
Industry Ministry will interfere to withdraw the import license permanently from the dealerships, who did not abide to the activity of manufacturing before the distribution of the new licenses, as they will include a quota of less than those approved in 2016, when it equaled 90 thousand vehicles, according to the Prime Minister, Abdelmalek Sellal, and the Minister of Industry and mines, Abdeslam Bouchouareb.
Governors will also retrieve real estates to re-distribute them to investors who are able to create feasible industrial and economic activities, that would revive the public treasury and municipalities, as the Ministry of Industry and Mines counted until now, the delivery of 29 industrial hangars, in the framework of the government’s program that was issued in 2015, and which planned for the completion of nearly 50 industrial hangers and the distribution of its properties on the businessmen and entrepreneurs, and this after a complaint that were filed to governors and the Industry and Interior Ministries, under the pretext of the absence of the real estates.
Minister of Industry and Mines, Abdesslam Buchouareb, said during his visit to Setif (eastern Algeria), on Thursday, which is the fourth economic province in Algeria, that the granting of major facilities will be for investors who are wishing to complete industrial projects in 2017, especially those relating to the activities of handling, and production of the raw material, asserting that the year 2017 will be a handling year with distinction.
