“Green Algeria” bloc MPs boycott the voting on the bills without debate

Parliamentary group of the Algeria Green Bloc, opposed, on Thursday, the presentation of laws and presidential orders to the Parliament without discussion, including the Supplementary Finance Act 2015, and the Code of Criminal Procedure, as the House of Representatives recorded an abstention from voting on the presidential orders without the existence of an emergency justification, with an emphasis on the need to discuss these projects as a result of its importance and relationship to the lives of citizens directly in the light of the decrease in oil prices.

Parliamentary bloc of Algeria Green Alliance issued a statement which blames the Office of the People’s National Assembly, regarding the way of presenting the laws and presidential orders to vote on the bills by the MPs without a debate, as they refused, on Thursday, to by boycotting the session that is related to two presidential orders, which containing the Complementary Finance Act 2015 and amendments on Code of Criminal Procedures.

According to the statement, which copy is available to Echorouk, after the meeting of the National People’s Council, MPs expressed their dissatisfaction to the presentation of these laws in order to vote without debate, especially as they do not carry the character of urgency.

For its part, the Justice and Development Party group said: “This is considered a confusion of the parliament in the discussion of laws with direct relevance to the lives of citizens.”

These laws are related to the economy and the Supplementary Finance Act 2015, in light of the decline of exchange reserves and the devaluation of the dinar and fuel prices, and their effects on the citizens’ purchasing power, austerity operations and borrowing from abroad.
