Gulf Keystone Petroleum says second HBH Algeria well spudded, begins drilling

HBHN-1 exploration well on the Hassi Ba Hamou gas field in southern Algeria was spudded earlier this month, and drilling at this second well has started.

Gulf Keystone Petroleum Ltd said three appraisal and three exploration wells are to be drilled back to back in the first exploration phase of the licence which expires in September 2008.
Gulf Keystone owns a 38.25% stake in the hydrocarbons project, while BG Group holds 36.75% and Algeria ’s Sonatrach 25%.
