Gunmen attacked a convoy of Sonatrach cars, seize JPRS devices Southern Algeria

A group of Eight gunmen attacked on Saturday night, a convoy of four Sonatrach cars in the desert region that is called Hadb Tarodi in Ghardaia (southern Algeria).

Terrorist attack happened during the mentioned period, as the convoy was heading to one of the gas exploration fields in southern Metlili in Ghardaia, through installing an ambush for these cars by a group of Eight masked gunmen who inspected all the workers who were on board of these cars, at gunpoint, as they also robbed “GPRS” devices, and some of the equipment that was on board of the convoy’s cars, as well as the theft of a Station car that is equipped with with the Geological Survey devices, not to mention the looting of keys of their cars, letting them deeply in the desert, which is 80 kilometers from the national road No.1. 
Sonatrach started the process of identifying the location of workers who have been attacked by the armed group, a helicopter belonging to the National Armed Troops moved to the place, and ensured transporting workers to the mentioned destination, while the military and gendarmerie forces launched a large combing operation to search for armed group that carried out the attack.
