Hate attacks due to “scarf” in France
Representative of Algerian community in France Djamel Bouras was against holding Algerians responsible for the Paris attacks. “Algerian diplomats in France should protect nationals,” he said.
“The Algerian community should not pay the price. A woman wearing a scarf was attacked in Paris. Another mosque was burnt. Two ladies wearing a scarf were not allowed to enter clothes shops,” Bouras told Echorouk.
“It is horrible and unacceptable discrimination. The Algerian community is known for respecting the French Republic’s laws and values,” he added.
Asked about possible solutions to face violent acts against Arab and Muslims, he said things are getting worse. “Because of that, we call on our embassy and the French interior ministry to protect its nationals.”
