Health Ministry warns of the terrible spread of cancer disease among Algerians
Minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform, Abdelmalek Boudiaf, ordered the managers of public health to launch the implementation of a national scheme to combat cancer in all Wilayas, and warned of the terrible spread of disease among Algerians.
Health Minister explained, during a coordination meeting, that the national plan to combat cancer that is extending in the time between 2015-2018, is obligatory and should be applied by all the directors of public health in Algeria, on the basis of the calendar that will be preparedbefore the beginning and determine its details before next October.
Health Minister said, in a speech at the opening of the meeting on the importance of initial and continued training of doctors, for better insurance of cancer patients, on the grounds that the deficit in Algerian health system at the moment does not lie in the equipments, as much as it is lying in doctors trainers, aiming to prepare a national plan to combat cancer, as the Health Minister hurried the regional directors toinitiate working with it, to find effective solutions to the difficulties that were faced by the national health system in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
Mr. Messaoud, who is assigned by Boutefllika to oversee the plan of epidemiological change in Algeria, which lies, according to him, in adecline in the proportion of infectious diseases, compared to the terrible escalation of the spread of non contagious diseases like cancer.
