Fire fighter units intervened 1620 times in regions affected by the recent weather turbulences, as roofs of some flimsy houses collapsed, injuring many.
National Gendarmerie information cell said the intense rain fall raised the death toll to 13, while 50 others were injured, in 7 fatal road accidents, occurred in 7 provinces, namely Blida, Bouira, Mascara, Sidi Belabes, Ghardaia, Khenchla and Tamenrasset. The source added that the most deadly accident occurred in Ghardaia, where 4 people were killed.
12 other accidents caused various injuries to 50 people, occurred in Msila, Bejaia, Algiers, Tipaza, Relizane, Chlef, Mascara, Ghardia, El-Tarf and Setif.
