High turnout for Kuwaiti pavilion at 15th Algiers Int''l Book Fair
There is a high turnout at the pavilion of Kuwaiti Ministry of Information at the 15th Algiers International Book Fair (Oct 26 – Nov 6).
The Kuwaiti booth’s supervisor Jassem Al-Hemr said in a statement to KUNA that the State of Kuwait is keen to take part through the Ministry of Information in the various cultural and scientific events in the Arab countries including Algeria.
Regarding the Kuwaiti booth, Al-Hemr noted that there are 15 Kuwaiti institutions, most of them are governmental bodies subsidiary of the Ministry of Information, diplaying more than 300 book titles.
He also made clear that the displayed publications include those printed by the Ministry of Information, the University of Kuwait, the Kuwaiti Center of Researches and Studies, the Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development, the Arabi Magazine, Foundation of Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Prize for Poetic Creativity, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education.
Further, the participating bodies include the Kuwait National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL), the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS) and Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR).
On his part, Kuwaiti ambassador to Algiers Saud Faisal Al-Doweish expressed his happiness over the participation of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information in the 15th Algiers International Book Fair.
Al-Doweish said in a statement to KUNA that the State of Kuwait is always keen on participating in various international cultural events, adding that current participation contributes to further strengthening bilateral ties between the two Arab countries.
