Human rights activists protest, ask to stop “Wahrani” movie

A group of jurists and personalities of the revolutionary family against the movie called “Wahrani” (a man from Oran), which is now presented in Algerian cinemas by the director Elias Salem, considering that the film is a distortion of the Algerian revolution against French colonialism, which is a malicious propaganda that threatens November revolution.
Lawyer Zahia Mokhtari, in the famous case of “Merah” and a group of her colleagues told Echorouk about the content of the movie “Wahrani” which abused the personality of the Algerian war veterans, and its scenes show them as “drunkard” and men who only love sex, and suddenly found themselves as part of a group that aim to fight the French.
“I agreed with a number of lawyers to deposit a judicial complaint against the director Salem Elias, after the contact with the revolutionary family, if the screening of the film will continue, my colleagues will hold a special meeting during which they will call upon the War Veterans and Culture Ministries to take urgent solutions to stop the movie screening and prevent its entry in the international competitions.”
