Algerian League for Defending Human Rights condemns the campaign to crush the practice on some syndicalists, considering it a retaliatory operation that is directed against all who refuse to relinquish their independence and their freedom, declaring its solidarity with all syndicates.

It called upon all activists to strengthen the ranks of independent syndicates in order to win the battle for the independence of activity, because 37 delegates were subjected to measures of wages deduction and degradation, and even expulsion.
Algerian League for the Defense of Human Rights, added in a statement, which copy is available to Echorouk, that it followed the repressive measures that affect members of independent syndicates.
“Considerable number of members of the National Syndicate of Independent Users of Public Administration “SNAPAP” were subject to unfair and arbitrary measures, such as suspension of labor relations, remittances, and isolation, as the last victim of these measures was the head of the SNAPAP, Rachid Malaoui. Other syndicates like the Independent Syndicate of Post Offices Workers is facing rejection of registration, in addition to the suspension of work relationship for its head, Nekkache Mourad, and isolating the media spokesman, Tarek Ammar Khodja, after the suspension of his labor relationship, as is the case for the President of the Independent National Syndicate of Electricity and Gas Workers “Sonelgaz” which head, Boukhalfa Abdellah was fired.”
It is not the first time in which the power in Algeria is accused of cracking down the work of syndicates, as previously a large number of international non-governmental organizations and national organizations accused it of cracking down on civil society and the reduction of its initiatives, and imposing harassment and prosecutions against civilian activists and syndicalists.
