Hundreds of Resident Doctors protest in Algiers
Over 300 resident doctors protest here on Tuesday out of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Algiers.
Resident doctors said the ministry failed to meet their social and pedagogical demands which they demand weeks ago during a number of protests.
Dozens of students in dental surgery and pharmacy join the protests.
In this regard, Dr. Yles Toufik, spokesman to the Independent Association of Algerian Resident Doctors told APS that the protest against the ministry because it did not fulfill its promises”.
“Commitments and recommendations stemming from the National Symposium of the Deans of Medicine Institutes, have not been met especially those related with compensation and training”, he added.
“Meetings which were organized until now were not fruitful. Resident doctors are determined to move forward towards their demands, even if they will lose a year of career”.
