I’m fit to play the Morocco derby clash, Ziani

Algeria ace Karim Ziani has confirmed full recovery from his foot injury, and declared fit to participate in the derby against Morocco.

 

 

Ziani told Echorouk when he arrived to Spain to join the national squad preparation camp in the coastal city of Murcia, that he is happy for the comeback of his teammates Adlene Guedioura (Wolverhampton), Karim Matmour (Monchengladbach) and Foued Kadir (Valenciennes) after a long absence, adding that his sorry for the non selection of Djamel Abdoun (Kavala) and Abdelkader Ghezzal (Bari). 

“I’m feeling ok; and as you can see I’m ready to start the training camp and face Morocco. It was a slight injury on my foot and I recovered from it,” Turkey Kayzerispor playmaker said.

As for the upcoming derby against the Atlas Lions of Morocco and the impact of the result of this match on the chances of the Desert Foxes to qualify to the African Cup of Nations 2012, Ziani said: “Well, it’s going to be a tough game, given that we share the same points, and I will seek to win, or at least back home with a draw,” adding “it’s a crucial game; we have to concentrate on it, and I can only say that we will be up to the expectation of our fans.”

The Desert Foxes’ playmaker has commented the 22 player list selected by Coach Abdelhak Benchikha ahead the Morocco derby clash. 

“I’m very happy for the comeback of Guedioura, Kadir and Matmour, and I’m sure these three key players will be determinant in our clash,” Ziani stressed. He added: “However, I’m sorry for those who have not been called up for this important game; I think the coach hadto choose the best players, yet the doors are still open for any player who deserves a spot in the squad.”

On another side, Ziani rejected talking about his future, and denied having extended contract with Kayzerispor. “Right now I have this important game in Morocco to play, and that is all that is concerning me,” he said. “After the derby in Marrakech, I’ll decide on my future, and I’d like to deny report alleging that extended contract with Kayzerispor.”
