Illegal immigrants are barred from obtaining the biometric passports

Algerian illegal immigrants abroad who do not have residency documents are exempted from obtaining the biometric passports, after they were deprived previously from obtaining ordinary passports to settle their positions, either for work or marriage or continue their studies, Deputy Chairman in charge of the Algerian Community at the parliament for the 4th European region, except with France and Americas, Noureddine Belmeddah, said.

In this context, the same official sent a written interrogation to the Foreign Minister and International Cooperation, Ramtane Laamamra, asking him about the reason for the fluctuation, and the non application of the instruction to grant passports to the Algerian illegal immigrants, who do not have residency documents abroad, especially those who want to have the opportunity to settle their situation or continue their studies.

“Semi facilities were present and asked the illegal residents to bring registration document at the municipality of the hosting country to get the passport from Algerian consulates abroad, and the municipalities of the hosting country in turn ask for providing the passport which requires the certificate of registration in municipalities, and this a vicious circle, that complicated the lives of many immigrants for years.
