Illegal immigrants smugglers arrested in Meghnia

A team in charge of investigating illegal immigration arrested two men involved in smuggling people.

This came as two Morocans had been arrested as they were in a tax car, according to a police report.

Investigation showed that the Moroccans were in contact with Algerians in charge of smuggling people to borders, said the report.

Policemen went to the place in Meghnia where the smugglers were supposed to meet. A 36-year-old man was arrested and a 406 Peugeot car was seized.

The second suspect, 56, was also arrested. He was the mastermind of the smuggling operations and the leader of the criminals. He was caught carrying a total of 79,000 DZ.

The suspects were introduced into justice and put in temporary prison.
