In-depth inquiry opened over agricultural exploitations in Algiers
An inquiry was launched by the security forces in 17 municipalities of Algiers over the misappropriation of numerous agricultural exploitations transformed into huge real estates and luxurious villas with the complicity of former and present local representatives along with a number of administrators who used forged documents in several transactions.
- Reliable sources have revealed to Echourok that the inquiry covers several municipalities in Algiers including, Staouali, Birkhadem, Bouzareah, Baraki, Sidi Moussa and Eucalyptus, following reports numerous misappropriations of collective farmlands to individual properties.
- One of the reports, kept secret for inquiry reasons, has revealed that farmers were expropriated from their agricultural exploitation to erect a property development project comprising 600 housing units with the use of a forged expropriation document.
- The investigation was expanded to some forest services involved in the misappropriation of several agricultural exploitations thanks to these forged documents.
